The Agroforestry Book
Emmanuel Torquebiau
Agroforestry, the association of trees with crops or livestock, has become an alternative to industrial agriculture. Its main assets are the protection of soil, water and biodiversity, while maintaining agricultural production, and its role in mitigating or adapting to climate change, not to mention the multiple productions of trees (wood, fruit, fodder, medicines, etc.).
Feedback and scientific data are now available, but to date there has been no comprehensive work in French on this subject. The aim of this book is to make this information available to a wide readership in order to encourage this innovative and little-known practice, so as to stimulate new initiatives and help bring about change. Easy to read and packed with examples, accompanied by a wealth of iconography, a detailed index and numerous scientific references, Le Livre de l'agroforesterie will enable everyone - farmers, technicians, students, researchers and the simply curious - to discover this practice and deepen their knowledge of it.
